Trent Valley 4 Tracking Project.
The Trent Valley 4 Tracking Project formed a major part of the works to upgrade the West Coast Mainline Route. The project itself was to upgrade the WCMR between Tamworth and Armitage from a two track to a four track alignment.
M1 Widening Scheme Junctions 25 to 28.
The M1 Widening Scheme was part of the general widening of the whole of the M1. This contract was to widen 23km of the motorway by converting the hard-shoulder of the current motorway into a running lane and constructing a new hard-shoulder. This was to make it into a 4 lane motorway from J25 to J28 to ease congestion.
Etches Park Train Depot Redevelopment.
The Etches Park Depot was a £20million project to provide a major upgrade to the existing facilities and construction of two new maintenance sheds. Work started on the project in late 2008 with a completion date early in 2010.
M6 Hard Shoulder Strengthening Works, Junctions 13 to 14.
The M6 Hard Shoulder Strengthening works between junctions 13 and 14 was preliminary work in preparation for hard-shoulder lane running. This is part of the managed motorway scheme for the M6 as part of the works for the area until 2014.
A1M D2B Project.
The A1M D2B scheme is to upgrade the current A1 Trunk road to Motorway Standard between Dishforth and Barton. Currently work is being carried out between Dishforth and Leeming and is expected to be completed in Spring 2012. The remaining section from Leeming to Barton is due to start some time in the future.
M42 Resurfacing Works, Junctions 9 to 10.
The M42 Scheme was to resurface the worn out existing concrete carriageway with a Tarmac upper surface. The benefits of this were to provide a smoother and quieter ride.
